A Curious Nature: Paintings by Shelley Reed
March 12, 2017
Sunday, 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Boston-artist Shelley Reed’s A Curious Nature is an immersive display of black & white oil paintings on canvas that are larger than life. It needs to be seen to fully be appreciated. Although color is omitted in the artwork, her skillful attention to detail more than makes up for it with the subjects having such life-like features and expressions – it’s as if they’re caught in motion. The exhibition, on display until June 4th, highlights some of Reed’s pieces from over the past decade along with some never before seen work painted exclusively for the Fitchburg Art Musuem.
